ABOUT THE ROLE The Production Manager leads production department to efficiently manufacture budgeted amount of products while meeting safety, environmental, and quality objectives. Ensures practices are in alignment with company vision in the above areas.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH \n - Manage the plant's production function
\n - Ensure that the plant produces the required quantity of quality products.
\n - Direct the effective and efficient use of plant production equipment and people.
\n - Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires.
\n - Assist plant management in anticipating future needs of the plant including input into 3-year improvement plans.
\n - Develop and maintains a technically advanced and safety conscious team.
\n - Establishing and setting of annual department and personal objectives for self and all staff that are aligned with the plant and organization goals and objectives. Completion of mid-year and annual performance appraisals of department staff.
\n - Maintain working relationship with other departments, CIP and Regional Management to allow smooth plant operation.
\n - Additional major functions include: planning, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, reporting of department's effectiveness, safeguarding assets, environment compliance.
\n - Zero accidents and injuries
\n - Minimize environmental impact
\n - Maintains product quality to meet customer, market, and industry expectations.
\n - Meet or exceed production volumes budget
\n - Production costs equal or below budget
\n - Procurement and inventory tracking of raw materials and finished products
\n - Equipment performance and reliability exceeds budget
\n - Equipment shutdowns completed on-time and on-budget
\n - Highly motivated and effective workforce
\n - Positive work environment

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS \n
\n - Work closely with maintenance, quarry, quality, process teams to provide leadership, guidance, and direction for plant operations to ensure alignment to plant and company goals. Partners with the marketing department to understand customer demand.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
Additional Education Preferred: Field of Study Preferred: Science, Engineering, or Business
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years of cement plant experience including exposure to all functional areas within a cement plant.
Required Training/Certifications: Required Technical Skills : Computer skills with at least the following: Word, Excel, SAP
Travel Requirements : Less than 10%
Additional Requirements :
\n - Strong demonstrated commitment to safety and safety program experience. Demonstrated leadership capability and expert interpersonal skills.
\n - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
\n - Solid decision making ability and analytical approach to problem solving. Good basic finance skills and business acumen
\n - Calm and stable when under stress and when dealing with situations. Solid understanding of industrial equipment and processes.
\n - Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
\n - Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
