Experienced Veterinary Technician (Unlicensed - Still Awesome) Location: Andover Animal Hospital Andover, MA Pay range: $18-24 (depending on experience)

Who we are: Andover Animal Hospital is a full-service, 10-doctor, AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Andover, MA. We care for dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets, and exotics (yes, really - lizards, snakes, rabbits, and the occasional sugar glider who thinks it's a flying squirrel on Red Bull). If you like a little unpredictability in your patient roster and don't flinch at feathers or scales, you'll fit right in.
What you'll actually be doing :
You'll be a true tech - not just a glorified restrainer or treat dispenser. We believe in letting skilled team members use their skills. You'll work alongside our doctors to provide compassionate care to a whole zoo of species and be empowered to take the lead on things like:
- Diagnostic sample collection
- Venipuncture & IV catheter placement (bonus if you don't need to tape your own fingers together)
- Radiology (including exotic critters with very strong opinions about staying still)
- Anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- Pain management and patient comfort
- Dental radiographs, cleanings, and possibly identifying what that dog just ate
- General exotic-wrangling finesse and MacGyver-level problem solving
Who you are: - You've got 2+ years of experience in a veterinary setting
- You're not licensed, but you've got the knowledge, instincts, and hustle of someone who is
- You're cool under pressure and can handle a minor chaos spiral without sacrificing your snack stash
- You're adaptable, collaborative, and you laugh at least once per shift
- You care about patients, clients, your team, and maybe naming every orange cat "Cheddar"
