Talent Acquisition Partner - Agency Recruitment New York City | Rockefeller Center Oliver James is a global specialist agency recruitment partner operating across 15 international offices, with a market leading presence across Insurance, Asset Management and Banking. As our US business continues its exceptional growth trajectory, we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to join our Global Talent Team in New York and play a central role in building the next generation of high performing teams across the business. We have ambitious plans to double the size of our US business over the next two years, and we have a proven track record of executing against our growth plans. Since 2020, Oliver James USA has grown revenue by more than 350% and expanded from 35 to over 160 employees across North America. This is a highly commercial Talent Acquisition role, partnering directly with senior leadership to drive experienced hiring strategy and support the next phase of Oliver James USA’s growth. Success in this role will be built through the same core skills that make a strong agency recruiter successful: headhunting, influence, commercial curiosity, resilience, objection handling and the ability to create opportunity with high performing talent in the market. You will be identifying, approaching, engaging and influencing experienced recruiters, positioning Oliver James as a compelling career move and converting passive interest into high quality hires. Recruiters join Oliver James USA for bigger markets, faster progression, stronger infrastructure and the opportunity to build genuinely high value desks. That creates a credible and exciting proposition to take to market, but it still needs someone who can open conversations, create urgency, handle objections and convert interest into hires. The Opportunity Working alongside an established Talent team, you will contribute to the attraction and hiring of experienced recruiters into Oliver James USA, proactively identifying top talent across our specialist markets and building strategic pipelines aligned to long term business growth. You will work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders across the US business, playing a key role in market mapping, hiring strategy and talent attraction. This role is best suited to someone who understands agency recruitment, enjoys the sales element of talent acquisition and is motivated by winning high quality talent in a competitive environment. Key Responsibilities Headhunt experienced recruiters across Oliver James’ specialist markets Build strategic talent pipelines aligned to future growth plans Proactively approach and engage passive recruitment talent Sell the Oliver James opportunity to experienced recruiters in the market Manage candidates through the full recruitment lifecycle Partner closely with senior leadership on hiring strategy and market insights Conduct first stage interviews and candidate assessments Assess candidate motivation, commercial mindset and alignment to agency recruitment Promote the Oliver James brand across the recruitment market Manage referral initiatives Support onboarding and post placement aftercare Work collaboratively with the wider Talent team and Marketing on talent attraction campaigns Track pipeline activity, hiring performance and recruitment data What We’re Looking For Experience within a recruitment agency environment is essential. We are ideally looking for someone already working in Talent Acquisition for a recruitment agency, hiring experienced recruiters into an agency environment. We will also consider high performing 360 agency recruiters who are looking to move into an internal Talent Acquisition role, provided they bring strong sales capability, excellent market knowledge and a genuine interest in influencing recruiter career moves. To be considered, you must have at least two years of experience working in an agency recruitment environment. This role is unlikely to suit someone whose Talent Acquisition experience has been gained solely in an in house or non recruitment agency setting. The successful person will need to understand the pace, standards, motivations and commercial realities of agency recruitment, and be confident speaking to experienced recruiters about desk performance, market opportunity, progression and earning potential. Alongside strong market knowledge, we’re looking for someone proactive, commercially driven and relentless in their approach to talent attraction. Someone who will leave no stone unturned in the search for the very best recruitment talent in the market, and who thrives on influencing high performers to make career defining moves.
