Description: The Calais School is a state-approved, private special education school in North Jersey providing students with innovative academic and behavioral strategies in grades K through 12 Plus with multiple learning disabilities as well as anxiety, mood, behavior and autism spectrum disorders. We have an outstanding opportunity for a School Social Worker to work part-time with our students during our ESY program supporting their social, emotional, and behavioral growth within a collaborative, student-centered environment. The dates of the ESY program are July 6, 2026 through August 14, 2026 and the hours are 8:15am - 12:45pm. Requirements: Responsibilities: Assess the needs of students. Determines and implements appropriate therapeutic strategies to effect changes in behavioral social interactions of students. Provides individual and group therapeutic counseling to students. Serves as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote collaborative processes in educational and/or career planning for students. Collaborates with school staff and other school system personnel in implementing strategies to promote student learning and transition. Provides staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues affecting student participation in the learning/transition process. Conducts staff development on issues related to social-emotional-environmental factors that impact learning and transition. Maintains required clinical records and submits appropriate documents for reports. Requirements: 3-5 years of experience working with special needs students. Must possess NJ School Social Worker Certification Must possess LCSW or LPC. Effective problem-solving, human relations and communication skills. Must be a team-oriented player.
