About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic Roofing department. In this full-time, salaried position, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a diverse range of commercial roofing projects. This role combines technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes. What You'll Do

• Evaluate and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects.
• Consult with engineers, architects, and clients to discuss project specifications and address any potential challenges.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to measure and assess specific project requirements.
• Research and obtain competitive pricing for materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete various roofing projects.
• Provide detailed proposals and estimates in alignment with company standards and project timelines.
• Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to communicate pricing strategies and ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current market conditions, roofing materials, and construction techniques.
• Support the department in value engineering and cost-saving strategies without compromising quality and safety.
• Utilize estimating software and other tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and assist in securing profitable contracts for the company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial roofing estimating role.
• Strong knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Exceptional mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English to liaise with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and relevant building codes applicable to commercial roofing projects.
• Experience conducting site visits and measurements is highly preferred.
• A degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is an asset but not required.
