Job Description

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our renowned academic medical center in Boston. As an RN at Tufts Medical Center, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse patient population, supporting a full range of medical services including primary care, specialty clinics, and complex inpatient care. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor and interpret patient responses, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, evidence-based care. You will be responsible for managing a clinical assignment, prioritizing and coordinating care for multiple patients, documenting accurately and efficiently in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and communicating clearly with patients, families, and colleagues. RNs at Tufts Medical Center play an essential role in patient and family education, discharge planning, and care transitions, ensuring that patients and caregivers understand diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up needs. You will uphold rigorous infection control and patient safety standards, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and escalate changes in patient condition promptly and appropriately. Aligned with the collaborative, patient-focused culture at Tufts Medical Center, you will participate actively in interdisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and handoffs, and you will help foster a supportive environment that values respect, diversity, and open communication. As part of an academic medical center that integrates clinical care, education, and research, you will have opportunities to engage in continuous learning through in-service education, competency development, and exposure to cutting-edge practices and clinical trials. You may precept or mentor nursing students and new staff, share best practices with colleagues, and contribute to an environment of innovation and professional growth. This position is well suited for nurses who are adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. You should be comfortable using technology and EMR systems, following standardized protocols, and applying critical thinking to complex clinical situations. A strong commitment to collaboration, cultural humility, and community health is essential, as you will care for patients from diverse backgrounds and work closely with an integrated care team. In return, Tufts Medical Center offers a supportive and innovative work environment, competitive compensation and benefits, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while advancing your nursing career in an academically rich, research-driven organization.
