MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER—2026-2027
Pay: $43,000.00 - $80,396.00 per year
Arts Academy in the Woods is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher. Candidates
must hold a valid Michigan 6-12 Teaching Certificate.
Responsibilities:
• Teach AAW's innovative and rigorous curriculum to middle school students
at a variety of experience and ability levels.
• Complete faculty responsibilities per the AAW Master Teacher Contract.
• Collaborate with AAW teachers to improve the Academy’s curriculum and
our cross-curricular goals.
• Communicate regularly with families.
• Contribute to the AAW community through grade level and subject area
teams.
Qualifications:
• Current Michigan Certification in Secondary (6 – 12) Math
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience working with middle and high school students and families
• Experience teaching Math to Middle and High School Students
• Experience or familiarity with Illustrative Math• Familiarity with best practice formative assessment strategies, arts
integrated education, and with the Common Core State Standards
Compensation:
• Salary is commensurate with education and experience, per the Arts
Academy in the Woods Master Agreement Certified Teacher Salary Scale
BA Step 1 $43,000 – MA+30 Step 15 $80, 396
• Benefit package available, including premium free medical and dental,
MPSERS retirement, and low premium family vision per the Arts Academy in
the Woods Teacher Master Contract
• Position would be within the American Federation of Teachers, Michigan
