Job Description

A well-established post-secondary medical and dental training institution is seeking a Full Time Dental Assistant Instructor to teach in a hands-on, accelerated program. Instruction takes place in fully equipped clinical labs within a small classroom environment, allowing for meaningful student engagement and skill development. This role is ideal for an experienced Dental Assistant who is passionate about education, professionalism, and preparing students for successful careers in healthcare.


Key Responsibilities


• Deliver didactic (academic) instruction aligned with an established curriculum


• Teach and demonstrate clinical dental assisting skills


• Model and reinforce professionalism, communication, and patient-care standards


• Manage an in-person classroom of adult learners


• Support students through an accelerated training program


• Maintain compliance with state and regulatory requirements


Required Qualifications


• Current New Jersey Dental Radiology (X-Ray) authorization


• Minimum 3 years of dental assisting field experience


• Prior teaching, training, or instructional experience


• Strong oral and written communication skills


• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and classroom-management skills


• Ability to engage, motivate, and mentor adult learners Preferred Qualifications


• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)


• Experience teaching in a post-secondary, vocational, or clinical training environment


Education & Experience


• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)


• Teaching or training experience: 2+ years preferred


Work Location: In person • Schedule: Structured daytime hours with some evening instruction
