About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO) to lead its organizational transformation and ensure that equity is at the forefront of its mission. The CDEIO will be a key advisor, integrating DEI strategy into all aspects of the organization, from strategic planning to long-term processes. This role requires a visionary leader who can create a roadmap for systemic change, foster a culture of inclusion, and support a unified strategy that reflects the diverse experiences of the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing a DEI vision, advising the executive team, and partnering with HR to strengthen an inclusive internal culture. They will also be tasked with community engagement, and culture, and will be expected to utilize data to track and report on the effectiveness of DEI initiatives. Applicants for the CDEIO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior-level DEI leadership experience, preferably in a complex nonprofit, public interest, or mission-driven organization. A JD or Master's degree is strongly preferred. The role demands a proven track record in leading large-scale DEI initiatives across various dimensions, as well as expertise in strategic planning, execution, and change management. The ideal candidate will have advanced data literacy, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build strong, inclusive work environments. They must be adept at fostering a culture of trust and respect, and be prepared to serve as the primary resource for staff experiencing discrimination. The CDEIO will also be responsible for team leadership, including supervising the DEI team, managing the department budget, and identifying resource needs to support evolving DEI initiatives.
