Typical means to obtain the combination of experience, education, knowledge and abilities to serve as Assistant City Manager includes a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a related field, and 8 years of increasing responsible administrative experience in municipal or local government including at least 5 years of management experience.
