The department offers a BA in Applied Linguistics, BS in Linguistics and Computer Science, a post-baccalaureate Certificate in TESL, and an MA in TESOL with a teaching track and an applied linguistics track. Courses include a wide range of topics in formal linguistics, applied linguistics, second language education, and cultural connections of language. Position Summary The Department of Applied Linguistics is seeking part-time Adjunct Instructors with the ability to teach lower and upper-division undergraduate courses and Master’s level courses during the academic year to meet curricular needs. In-person instruction is anticipated for 2025-26; however, the department also offers some online and hybrid courses. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree Some experience teaching linguistics courses Preferred Qualifications PhD in applied linguistics, linguistics, or related field 2-3 years teaching courses in linguistics, applied linguistics, or language teaching education Experience teaching/research linguistic diversity and discrimination Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.
